Let’s Get The Ball Rolling

A producer is the brains of the operation. They liaise with you, the client, collate all the necessary documents, manage crewing and generally oversee the production is going to run smoothly. The producer will use the initial reference material (scripts and moodboards etc) to begin organising the productions elements.

Communication is Key

It’s vital that the producer has the details of everyone involved in a project. Through text, email, phone or video call they’ll keep you in the loop with the project’s progress and help you to navigate through the unforseen risks. A big part of mitigating risk in production is doing tests, scouting locations and making sure the content is factually correct/presentable, so expect one or all of these aspects to be covered.

It’s Coming Together

All scripts, call sheets, talent, crew, equipment and locations should be in their final stages of confirmation, ready to be reviewed and signed off by the client and producer(s) at this point. This is the last chance to make any changes.

Quality Control

Before production begins, the producer will go through every aspect of production one last time with a fine tooth comb to ensure everyone is on the same page and that we have a backup plan in the event any problems occur (that’s a producer’s bread and butter).
